In this scene, Paris tells the Friar that he is going to marry Juliet this Thursday. Juliet goes to the Friar and asks him if he could help her in all this situation that has come, he comes up with a brilliant plan. He gives her a poison that would make her appear as if she is dead while sleeping. The poison lasts for 42 hours and she will wake-up in the tomb. The Friar will write a letter to Romeo explaining him what will happen, so he could help Juliet get out of the tomb. Juliet then takes the poison and returns back home.

Juliet tells her mother and father that she will marry Paris this Thursday. Juliet acts as if nothing is wrong and goes on with her plains, and she continues to make  the others seem as if she's really excited for this wedding. While everyone is busy preparing for the wedding, Juliet takes the poison that will make her appear as if she is dead and drinks it. The next day they find Juliet's  body.
